Tortilla King, Inc. has been in business since May 31, 1992. The company started its venture with a small flour tortilla production line located in downtown Moundridge. At that time, Tortilla King was sharing the building with Waybo Foods, owned by the founder of Tortilla King, Robert Ratzlaff. Waybo foods were producing tortilla chips.

In 1996 Tortilla King moved into a new facility to accommodate not only company growth but also the expansion of new production lines.

1998 Waybo Foods and Tortilla King merged with the idea of diversity. Diversity enabled the new company to accommodate customer needs more efficiently.

1999 Tortilla King acquired the La Comida trademark originally founded in Garden City, Kansas. This acquisition increased the market share in Western Kansas by provided a well-recognized label in that area.

2002 Tortilla King received the Metro Award for being one of the ten fastest growing privately held companies in the Greater Wichita Area. Actual growth rate from 1998 to 2001 was 274%.

2004 Tortilla King started an expansion by adding a 60,000 sq. ft. addition to the existing building to increase capacity on Flour Tortilla production. The expansion and additional flour Tortillas capacity was finished in 2005

2008 Tortilla King acquired Li'l Guy Foods. Originally founded in Kansas City, MO in 1935. Li'l Guy product line are well recognize in Kansas City metro area. Production was relocated to the Moundridge facility. Today Tortilla King is one of the largest Midwestern tortilla producers and uses the latest technology for the production of flour tortillas, corn tortillas and tortilla chips, with the sole intent of satisfying our customers' expectations and thereby continuing the high standards set by our company.
